Annotatsiya

This article provides a detailed exploration of the lesson model and conceptual essence of the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach, as well as its significance in modern pedagogy. CLIL integrates subject learning with foreign language acquisition, enabling students to build dual competence: mastery of disciplinary knowledge and communicative skills. Within this approach, the foreign language is not viewed merely as a target of learning, but as a medium for understanding subject content, developing higher-order thinking, and applying knowledge in authentic contexts. The paper compares soft-CLIL and hard-CLIL models, analyzing their characteristics, advantages, and effectiveness in teaching practice. Particular attention is given to the structure of a CLIL lesson, including stages such as activating prior knowledge, deepening comprehension, promoting communication through language, and encouraging reflection. The role of the teacher is emphasized as both methodological coordinator and mediator between language and subject matter. Findings highlight that the CLIL lesson model fosters communicative competence, interdisciplinary thinking, critical analysis, and professional readiness among learners. As an innovative educational technology, CLIL contributes significantly to improving the quality of learning and teaching, offering sustainable solutions for twenty-first century education.
