This article offers a systematic study of German folk tales recorded by the Brothers Grimm, combining analysis of their poetic structure with aesthetic evaluation. Its chief aim is to identify the mechanisms by which formulaic phrases, triple repetition, rhythmic patterning and stereotyped images create a stable artistic framework that conveys the duality of beauty and justice. Structural, aesthetic and symbolic methods of analysis are integrated, drawing on the theories of Max Lüthi and Vladimir Propp. Introductory and closing formulas such as “Es war einmal …” and “… und wenn sie nicht gestorben sind, dann leben sie noch heute” lift the tale beyond historical and spatial limits, while the three-stage plot pattern reinforces listeners’ psychological readiness. The conflict between good and evil, magic objects and talking animals symbolise moral ideals and aesthetic aspirations embedded in folk consciousness. Findings confirm that a reward-and-punishment system restores aesthetic balance and consolidates standards of beauty. Finally, poetic units from the Grimm corpus are compared with corresponding structures and motifs in Uzbek folk tales, highlighting universal features of folk poetic thought. The results provide a methodologically reliable guide for the study of folklore aesthetics and a trustworthy source for future research.
