The study of language interactions has become more important than it has ever been before as a result of the growing globalization of the world, which has led to an increase in both the frequency and intensity of language contact. The purpose of this article is to study the field of contact linguistics within the context of globalization, migration, and intercultural exchange. More specifically, the article will investigate the linguistic impacts of encounters that involve multiple languages and show the various linguistic phenomena that can arise from contact circumstances by synthesising major studies that have been conducted by academics. This article presents a historical over view of contact linguistics and its development as a separate area, with a particular emphasis on the significant contributions made by famous scientists. There is a reflection of how individuals who speak more than one language and groups that speak several languages traverse their respective linguistic environments, shaping and being influenced by the languages they speak.
