Today, it is important to systematically analyze the field and implement innovations in order to further improve the system of training translators, develop and improve the linguistic and extralinguistic competencies of translators, including pragmatic, sociolinguistic, and intercultural competencies. One of the important issues is the formation of the translator's competence in order to fully express the linguistic and extralinguistic features of the original text in the translated text. This article will focus on the competencies and types of competencies required for qualified translators, as well as the components that make up these competencies. It will also provide information on the content of translation and the views of a number of scholars on translation.
