This article investigates the potential of gamification as an innovative and effective method for developing listening skills among 7th-8th grade students within a digital learning environment. The integration of game mechanics into educational practices not only fosters engagement and motivation but also encourages active learning, where students transition from passive recipients of information to active participants. The study outlines key motivational mechanisms embedded within gamified tasks, including autonomy, competence, and relatedness, in alignment with Self-Determination Theory. Practical examples of digital platforms and applications such as Kahoot!, LyricsTraining, and BBC Learning English illustrate how game elements- such as points, rewards, levels, and interactive quizzes- enhance listening comprehension. The article highlights findings from a pedagogical experiment conducted in a secondary school, demonstrating significant improvements in students' listening proficiency, confidence, and motivation. Methodological recommendations are provided for integrating gamification into language instruction, emphasizing the need for a balanced, adaptive approach to foster sustainable learning outcomes. This research draws upon contemporary educational theories and the author's own teaching experience.
