The article is devoted to the issues of modernization of language education on the basis of linguocultural approach. The main accent is focused on the personality of the learner as an active participant of the learning process, i.e. it emphasizes the importance of a person as a subject of learning, which allows making the process of learning a foreign language more effective and interesting. It is necessary to consider foreign languages as a means of ensuring integration into the world community, into a new social situation. The study of foreign languages should be accompanied by the study of the culture of the people and therefore language education is actually linguocultural education.
