This study examines the biomechanical characteristics of start and turn performance in elite swimmers and their impact on competitive outcomes. The start and turn phases are critical elements of swimming races, where minor technical variations can significantly affect overall performance. The purpose of the study was to identify key biomechanical factors that contribute to effective execution of these phases. High-speed video recording and kinematic analysis were used to evaluate body alignment, propulsion efficiency, and velocity changes during the start, underwater phase, and turn. The results indicate that optimal body positioning, effective push-off mechanics, and coordinated movement patterns help reduce speed loss and improve race efficiency.
