The article presents the results of a study on postural control and the degree of visual dependence in young female athletes engaged in artistic swimming. The assessment was carried out using stabilometric testing, particularly the Romberg test. It was found that the level of static balance within the group was characterized by considerable heterogeneity, while a significant proportion of the athletes demonstrated increased dependence on the visual analyzer. Different types of sensory regulation of balance were identified, making it possible to differentiate athletes according to the level of development of postural control. The obtained results substantiate the need to include exercises aimed at developing proprioception and vestibular stability in the training process.
