The article reveals the theoretical and methodological foundations of sports morphology, as well as its scientific and practical significance in the modern system of sports training. A systematic analysis is conducted of the patterns of morphological adaptation in the human body under the influence of sports training and competitive activity. Changes in the musculoskeletal system, body proportions, somatotypic characteristics, muscle architecture, and the morphology of internal organs are described. The dynamics of morphological indicators depending on age, sex, and sports specialization are identified, and their relationship with functional fitness and sports performance is assessed. The effectiveness of applying morphological criteria in sports selection, early identification of talented athletes, and individualization of the training process is substantiated. A comprehensive assessment approach based on the integration of morphology, physiology, and biomechanics is proposed. The research findings contribute to expanding the theoretical foundations of sports morphology and improving the long-term athlete development system.
