Annotatsiya

This article explores the impact of bilingualism on the linguistic and cognitive development of Uzbek children. As more Uzbek families incorporate a second language, primarily Russian or English, this shift offers unique insights into the cognitive advantages and potential challenges of early bilingualism. This paper examines how bilingualism influences memory, problem-solving, and linguistic flexibility, drawing comparisons with monolingual peers. Findings indicate that bilingual children often demonstrate enhanced cognitive flexibility and language skills, although potential issues such as language interference are also noted. This research contributes to the understanding of bilingualism’s role in child development, informing educational practices in multilingual societies.
