The main task of studying a foreign language at the university is aimed at the formation of a general cultural competence of students, which implies various types of communication, including professionally oriented abilities and training. Teaching methods should be aimed at the formation of cognitive and communicative competence, a stable motivation for learning. In modern information society, "multimedia education" plays an important role in university education. The method of creating and using podcasts (one of the types of multimedia education) transfers the student from the object to the subject of study, stimulates creative activity, readiness to put knowledge into practice. The article discusses the use of podcasting to organize interactive work of students in English learning. Particular attention is paid to the practical aspects of podcasting for English learners. The article also discusses the possibility of creating podcasts and the peculiarities of podcasting tasks.
