This article analyzes the pedagogical skills of the teacher, the specific didactic features of the subject, and modern methods of teaching the subject “Music literature” in children's music and art schools. The psychological and pedagogical aspects of the processes of listening, analyzing music and connecting theoretical knowledge with practice in mastering the subject are highlighted. Also, the issues of proper lesson planning and ensuring interdisciplinary integrity are scientifically substantiated.
