This article explores speech etiquette formulas in English and Uzbek from a rhetorical perspective. It examines how norms of politeness, forms of address, greetings, and expressions related to requests or wishes manifest in verbal communication. The study also analyzes their cultural and comparative significance on a global scale. Drawing on theoretical sources, current research, and empirical data, the article discusses the historical development, formation, and rhetorical value of speech etiquette formulas in both English and Uzbek.
