The article analyzes the state of the public utilities system in the Uzbek SSR in the early 1950s, existing infrastructure problems, and their impact on the living standards of the population. Based on archival documents and statistical data, the poor condition of water supply and sewerage systems in cities, the lack of treatment facilities, and the sanitary-epidemiological situation are highlighted. In addition, state measures taken to improve the utilities sector, increase funding, and introduce initial gasification processes are examined.
