This article analyzes the philosophical-critical essence of the concept of utopia and its relationship with social reality. The research examines the notion of “pure utopia” within the context of I. Kant's critical methodology and E.Bloch’s idea of “concrete utopia”. The main objective of the article is to reveal the dual nature of utopia – its role as both an object of critique and a subject of critique. The author focuses on the dangers of limiting utopia solely by the criterion of “realizability”, arguing that this approach can undermine utopia’s inherent critical-prospective power.
