This article presents a comparative and structural analysis of certain features of the phonetic systems of the English and Uzbek languages. The study focuses on the main components of the phonetic systems of both languages, including vowel and consonant sounds, diphthongs, and phonemes represented using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Particular attention is paid to the complex vowel system of English, the phonological and functional characteristics of diphthongs, and the relatively stable and simpler phonetic structure of the Uzbek language. The research identifies both similarities and differences between the phonetic systems of the two languages and analyzes their influence on the process of foreign language learning. In addition, potential pronunciation difficulties are discussed, and possible approaches for overcoming them are proposed on the basis of comparative phonetic analysis. The results of the study have important theoretical and practical significance for the development of phonetic competence in the process of teaching foreign languages.
