This article explores the challenges and opportunities of implementing Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in Uzbekistan’s higher education system. Although CLT is effective in developing communicative competence in English, its application is limited by traditional teaching methods, large classes, time constraints, and insufficient teacher training. At the same time, ongoing educational reforms, digital technologies, and increasing student motivation support its wider use. The study emphasizes the need to align curricula, teaching practices, and assessment with communicative principles to improve English language instruction.
