This article focuses on the importance of studying phytonyms in the Karakalpak language from a linguo-folkloristic perspective. It examines the general characteristics of phytonyms, their study in Karakalpak linguistics, and issues related to the study of oral folk literature. Certain plant names used in proverbs are analyzed from a linguistic point of view.
