This article examines the effectiveness of using game-based technologies in teaching Russian as a foreign language. It analyzes the main types of game-based methods, their didactic potential, and their impact on the development of learners’ communicative competence. Particular attention is paid to the role of game-based technologies in increasing motivation, reducing psychological barriers, and enhancing students’ cognitive activity. Based on an analysis of scientific literature and pedagogical practice, the study identifies the advantages and limitations of applying game-based methods in the educational process. Methodological recommendations are proposed for their effective integration into the teaching of Russian as a foreign language.
