Politeness and respect play a fundamental role in shaping everyday communication and social interaction in both Uzbek and Indonesian societies. These concepts are not only culturally significant but also linguistically encoded through specific lexical choices. This scientific article examines the vocabulary of respect and politeness in Uzbek and Indonesian languages from a comparative linguistic perspective. The study focuses on lexical units, pragmatic functions, and culturally embedded expressions used to express respect, manage social distance, and maintain interpersonal harmony. The research applies modern comparative methods, including semantic analysis, pragmatic interpretation, and discourse-based examples, to identify similarities and differences between the two languages.
