This article examines the phenomenon of morphological simplicity in English football terminology from a linguistic and functional perspective. The research focuses on the dominance of monomorphemic and minimally structured lexical units in football discourse and explains their significance for clarity, speed of communication, and international comprehensibility. The study analyzes core football terms through morphological classification, semantic motivation, and communicative efficiency. Particular attention is given to simple lexical forms, zero-derivation, limited affixation, and resistance to complex morphological structures. The findings demonstrate that morphological simplicity constitutes one of the fundamental organizing principles of football terminology, enabling effective interaction in professional, institutional, and media communication. The article concludes that football language represents a model of linguistic economy in which minimal morphological structure ensures maximal functional productivity.
