This article examines the eclectic approach as a flexible method suitable for upper-level and mixed-preparation students in English language teaching in Uzbekistan. It develops general language skills integrating grammar-translation, drills for automatization, and communicative activities such as role-playing. In Uzbekistan, this approach is proposed as a practical alternative in resource-limited settings and aims to increase motivation and engagement by combining first-language (Uzbek) support with second-language practice. Future work will require pilot lessons and teacher development initiatives aligned with local curricula.
