This article examines the role of the Jadid movement in the formation and development of Uzbek journalism, focusing on the journalistic activity of Mahmudkhodja Behbudi. It highlights Behbudi’s contribution to awakening national consciousness and promoting enlightenment and freedom of thought through the press. The study also analyzes the distinctive style and thematic orientation of Jadid journalism and its influence on the evolution of modern Uzbek media. The findings help to clarify the significance of the Jadid intellectual legacy in the context of contemporary journalistic discourse.
