Idiomatic expressions occupy a central place in English communication as they enrich language with figurative meaning and cultural depth. They represent linguistic creativity and cultural identity, enabling speakers to communicate ideas more vividly and naturally. This article explores idiomatic expressions from both cultural and linguistic perspectives, analyzing their role in effective communication, intercultural understanding, and language learning. The study applies descriptive and comparative methods, focusing on idioms as linguistic units with pragmatic and semantic functions. Results demonstrate that idiomatic competence is essential not only for linguistic fluency but also for cultural literacy, as idioms embody the worldview and traditions of English-speaking communities.
