This article analyzes pragmatic strategies and tactics used in English and Uzbek communication from a linguo-pragmatic perspective. The focus is placed on three types of communicative acts — influencing, refusing, and mitigating. Through a comparative analysis of speech acts in both languages, the study reveals how cultural, social, and psychological factors shape communicative behavior. The findings can be applied in intercultural communication, translation, and foreign language teaching.
