The article examines a methodology for teaching language for specific purposes through three stages of comprehension: adaptation, perception and interpretation of terms, and text analysis. A hierarchical approach to the content analysis of specialized texts is proposed, and the role of the instructor in developing students' intellectual skills is discussed.
