This article examines the influence of Orientalism on the formation of contemporary British foreign policy strategy through the lens of political institutions, discursive practices, and foreign policy decision-making mechanisms. Unlike existing studies, which view Orientalism primarily as a cultural or postcolonial phenomenon, this paper analyzes it as a discursive and institutional mechanism influencing the activities of government bodies, think tanks, and political elites. The research's methodological framework is based on an institutional approach, critical discourse analysis, and a comparative political method. The empirical base includes official UK government documents, speeches by Boris Johnson, David Cameron, Rishi Sunak, and James Cleverly, as well as materials from leading British think tanks. The results demonstrate that contemporary British Orientalism has transformed from a classical colonial model into a system of strategic discursive practices that legitimize foreign policy decisions. The author proposes the concept of discursive-institutional Orientalism, which reveals the interconnectedness of expert knowledge production, the activities of political institutions, and the formation of British foreign policy strategy.
