This article analyzes the use of the epigraph and symbols in the structure of Ulmas Umarbekov’s novel “It Is Difficult to Be Human”. The article reveals the connection between the symbol of the skylark in the work and the tragic fate of the main character, Gulchehra. In addition, through literary analysis of the epigraph, the study examines Abdulla’s spiritual crisis and the idea of “being human” reflected in the title of the novel.
