This article analyzes the process of naming toponymic objects, modifying them, their legal and scientific foundations, as well as the cultural and spiritual significance of toponyms. The classification of toponyms is extensively covered, particularly focusing on categories such as oikonyms, urbanonyms, and hydronyms. Additionally, the scientific works of scholars who have made significant contributions to the field are examined. The article specifically highlights the interconnection between toponymic research and disciplines such as linguistics, history, ethnography, and geography.
