Speaking skills are essential for effective communication, especially in a foreign language. In primary education, students often struggle to express themselves due to limited vocabulary, confidence, and exposure. Role plays provide a dynamic, interactive, and contextualized approach to language learning. This study investigates the effectiveness of role plays in enhancing the speaking skills of primary school students. Data were collected through classroom observations, pre- and post-tests, and student questionnaires. The findings suggest that role plays significantly improve students’ fluency, vocabulary usage, and confidence in speaking. Recommendations for incorporating role plays in regular teaching practices are provided.
