This article examines key aspects of language competence, including grammatical, lexical, phonetic, and speech components, as well as the methods, aspects, and factors contributing to their development. Special attention is given to the competency-based approach, which involves fostering not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills essential for the successful professional activity of future Russian language teachers.
