The article examines the results of the study of the emergence of the science of “parable” and the process of its development in the Arab world. The author analyzed the interaction of Arab culture with the cultures of the ancient Near and Middle East, including the influence on the cultures of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Phoenicia, Palestine and other peoples. The article reveals the meaning of the concept of “parable” in Arab spirituality, its place in written and oral creativity, its historical foundations. The article also presents information about ancient Arabic poetry, jahiliyya literature and collections of parables compiled in the post-Islamic period. Collections of parables and their researchers are presented, as well as the authors of the first collections of parables, their creations and works. The article also highlights the contribution of literary schools formed in such scientific centers as Kufa and Basra to the development of the science of parables. The role of parables in socio-political and cultural life, their connection with the folklore of ancient Semitic peoples, as well as the work of famous authors in this field, including al-Mufaddal ad-Dabbi, al-Asmai and al-Jahiz, are also studied. The information and analysis presented in the article provide a complete picture of the development of the science of “parable” in the Arab world. This study may be useful to those interested in Arabic literature and culture, as well as researchers seeking to deeply study the science of parables.
