This article provides a comparative legal analysis of the institution of paternity establishment in the legislation of foreign countries, specifically Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The main purpose of the study is to examine the procedures for acknowledging, judicially establishing, and contesting paternity in these countries, as well as to compare them with the norms of the Family Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The article highlights issues such as ensuring the best interests of the child, the evidentiary value of genetic examination, and the presumption of paternity. Based on foreign experience, scholarly proposals for improving national legislation are developed.
