The article examines issues of state regulation of investment activity. It identifies the goals and objectives that state regulation should address, analyzes investment legislation and the experience of its application in developed Western countries. Special attention is paid to a comparative analysis of the features of attracting foreign investment, including restrictions aimed at protecting the national economy from the excessive influence of foreign capital.
