This article analyzes, based on historical sources, the formation and stages of development of children’s and women’s sports in the Republic of Uzbekistan during the years of independence, as well as the country’s achievements in the international sports arena. Particular attention is given to the participation of female athletes in the Olympic Games, the Asian Games, and world and continental championships, as well as to the scientific assessment of the significance of the three-stage sports training system for young athletes (“Umid Nihollari,” “Barkamol Avlod,” and “Universiada”). Furthermore, the achievements of women and youth in tennis, gymnastics, athletics, swimming, and Para-Asian sports are examined, and their role in the history of Uzbek sports is revealed. The findings of the study demonstrate that state policy aimed at supporting sports during the independence period became one of the principal factors contributing to the popularization of children’s and women’s sports and to Uzbekistan’s success at the international level.
