This article explores the development of pragmatic competence through the use of online tools in autonomous language learning environments. In the context of rapid digitalization, language learners increasingly rely on self-directed learning strategies supported by technological resources such as mobile applications, learning platforms, and multimedia content. The study focuses on how these tools facilitate the acquisition of speech acts, context-appropriate language use, and intercultural communication skills. Special attention is given to the role of authentic input, interactive tasks, and feedback mechanisms in enhancing learners’ pragmatic awareness. The findings suggest that integrating online tools into autonomous learning not only improves learners’ communicative effectiveness but also fosters learner independence, motivation, and engagement. The study highlights the importance of designing pedagogically sound digital environments to support pragmatic development in second language acquisition.
