This article explores the significance of learning a foreign language during childhood. The author emphasizes that childhood is a crucial stage in the formation of an individual's personality and substantiates the importance of early development of foreign language competence. The article analyzes the impact of foreign language learning on a child's cognitive and emotional development, as well as the characteristics of language acquisition in children of different age groups. The paper presents conclusions that aid in determining the optimal age for developing foreign language competence in children.
