The article analyzes the textual structure, contextual significance and national and cultural characteristics of epithets. They also discussed ways to adequately reflect them in translation and the difficulties faced by the translator. Using the example of English and Uzbek, a comparative analysis of the linguistic and stylistic aspects of epithets was carried out and strategies aimed at ensuring their equivalence in translation were proposed.
