The article identifies the termination of an employment contract as one of the most sensitive institutions of labor law, directly affecting the balance of interests between employees and employers. It establishes that the new Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan systematizes the grounds and procedures for terminating employment relations and strengthens guarantees against arbitrary dismissal. It further clarifies that, despite legislative improvements, law enforcement practice continues to face difficulties related to the ambiguous interpretation of termination grounds and violations of dismissal procedures. The impact of procedural guarantees on the protection of workers’ labor rights is assessed, demonstrating that non-compliance with formal requirements remains a common reason for recognizing dismissals as unlawful. Regularities of judicial practice in resolving labor disputes arising from the termination of employment contracts are characterized. The article examines national legal regulation in comparison with foreign experience and international labor standards, emphasizing the need to improve enforcement mechanisms to ensure social justice and the stability of labor relations.
