The article examines various concepts of teaching in education systems and methods for testing their effectiveness. Particular attention is paid to assessment studies aimed at testing student literacy. Physics tasks that are often used at revision and examination stages are analyzed, as well as their role in assessing students. Examines how teachers use assessment as a tool to encourage student engagement.
