This article is devoted to the analysis of the system of evidence in criminal procedural legislation and the processes of its formation, including collection, verification, and evaluation. The main objective is to reveal the legal nature and significance of evidence in criminal proceedings, as well as the statutory requirements imposed on it, namely relevance, admissibility, and reliability. The article examines the classification of procedural sources of evidence, such as witness testimony, victim testimony, expert opinions, and material evidence. It also analyzes the mechanisms of evidence formation, namely the procedural methods of collecting, recording, and verifying evidence at the stages of inquiry, preliminary investigation, and judicial proceedings. In addition, the article clarifies the concept of inadmissible evidence, its consequences for criminal cases, and its role in ensuring the protection of human rights.
