This article examines the semantic lexemes expressing auditory competence in English and Uzbek, focusing on their semantic scope, functional features, and usage in communication. The study analyzes verbs, adjectives, idiomatic expressions, metaphorical structures, and pragmatic units related to hearing perception. The semantic structure, cognitive basis, and communicative functions of these lexical items are explored comparatively across the two languages.
