The article examines issues related to establishing mutual cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the trade and economic sphere. Based on documentary materials, the first steps in this direction are identified. Using statistical data, the dynamics of trade between the two countries during the years of Uzbekistan's independent development are presented. The structure of imported and exported goods is analyzed. Special attention is given to the state of mutual cooperation between the two countries in the context of building a New Uzbekistan.
