This article examines the diplomatic activities of Amir Timur and provides an analysis of historical sources dedicated to this topic. The study encompasses Timur’s foreign policy, his diplomatic relations, and the role of diplomacy in the governance of his state. The research draws upon the works of both Eastern and Western authors, including Nizam al-Din Shami, Sharaf al-Din Ali Yazdi, Ibn Arabshah, Abdurrazzaq Samarkandi, Hafiz Abu, Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, al-Maqrizi, Ibn al-Furuta, as well as Ruy González de Clavijo, Archbishop John, and Johann Schiltberger. Through these sources, the article reveals the distinctive features of Timur’s diplomatic policy, his international authority, interactions with envoys, and strategies aimed at maintaining peace. The findings underscore the significance of diplomacy in ensuring the independence and stability of the state during Timur’s era.
