The article examines the transformation of the category of responsibility in the context of postmodern philosophy. It is revealed that the deconstruction of the subject, carried out by J. Derrida and M. Foucault, leads to the loss of the classical understanding of responsibility as a universal ethical category. It is established that under conditions of postmodern relativism, responsibility loses its ontological status and acquires the character of a fragmented, contextual, and discourse-dependent phenomenon. The weakening of the autonomous subject gives rise to the phenomenon of “dissolved responsibility,” typical of digital and network culture. The influence of the simulacral reality described by J. Baudrillard on the deformation of modern ethical consciousness is assessed. The transition from the modernist model of responsibility to the relational and dialogical one-based on the philosophy of E. Levinas and M. Buber – is characterized, where responsibility is understood as a relation “to the Other” rather than as a function of the subject’s rational autonomy.
