This article presents a comprehensive study of traditional building materials and architectural technologies used in the Bukhara region from the Bronze Age to the early 20th century. Special attention is given to materials such as monolithic and molded paksha (rammed earth), sun-dried and fired bricks, ganj (gypsum plaster), and glazed ceramics. The study examines their methods of production, structural characteristics, and resistance to climatic and seismic impacts. Based on archaeological, architectural, and ethnographic sources, the research demonstrates how local craft traditions shaped a resilient construction culture capable of adapting to the harsh natural conditions of Central Asia. The findings highlight the relevance of these traditional practices for the preservation of architectural heritage and their potential for reinterpretation in the context of modern sustainable and earthquake-resistant design.
