This article focuses on the phenomenon of cyber fraud and its criminological characteristics, specifically the factors, causes, and conditions that give rise to this crime, as well as the issue of its prevention. Typically, when a fraud is committed, attention is primarily directed towards exposing the crime and bringing the perpetrator to justice. However, in some cases, the relationship between two actual participants in the crime - the criminal and the victim - may be overlooked. Taking this into account, the author also highlights the victim's vulnerability and preventive measures against victimization in this article. This, in turn, contributes to the prevention of cyber fraud. The approach presented serves to reduce the social risks associated with cybercrime.
