This study examines the use of speech acts within the framework of intercultural communication, focusing on the linguistic and cultural dynamics in Uzbekistan and English-speaking contexts. Particular attention is given to the contrast between direct and indirect communication strategies in conflict resolution. The study demonstrates that Uzbek communication is characterized by a preference for indirectness and politeness, rooted in collectivist and hierarchical cultural norms, while English tends to favor directness and clarity, especially in low-context settings. Understanding these differences is essential for improving intercultural communication and fostering more effective and respectful dialogue across linguistic boundaries.
