It is well known that professional training plays a crucial role in helping newly entering lawyers begin their complex and multifaceted professional activities. This is because the demands placed on lawyers are constantly expanding in line with the development of the times. This article analyzes the psychological and ethical qualities necessary for a lawyer in their professional activity. Along with this, the essence, necessity, and importance of a lawyer's psychological readiness for the profession are discussed in detail. The requirements for lawyers in our country are examined based on the regulatory legal acts governing the field and the rules of professional ethics. Opinions and considerations are presented regarding the professional training necessary to develop these qualities. Furthermore, the views of several foreign scholars who have conducted scientific research in this area are analyzed. Based on the study of the requirements imposed on the personality of lawyers in developed countries, the article also addresses the role of professional training – including psychological preparation – in attracting young lawyers to the profession.
