It examines changes in the nature of journalistic work, the increasing demand for cross-functional skills, and the influence of the "explosion of authorship" and competition from non-professional content creators online. Special attention is given to new formats of media delivery, the role of streaming media, and the shifting perception of journalism as both a profession and a calling. The article highlights key social, ethical, and technical challenges journalists face in the 21st century.
